What's included on each worksheet

Every sheet is a full page with a name and date line, a title that says what the page practices, and an answer key on page two with the answers in blue. Translation practice is a numbered list of English words with a line to write each Spanish word, or the reverse. Matching is two columns — English on the left, Spanish scrambled on the right — with a dot beside each item to draw the line from. The numbers sheet lists digits to write as Spanish words, from uno to cien, or Spanish words to write as digits. The alphabet sheet lays out all 27 letters with their names — a, be, ceeñe zeta — and a line to write each one. Greetings and phrases leaves one word out of each phrase, gives the English meaning as a hint, and puts every missing word in a word bank at the top.

Every noun prints with its article — el perro, la casa, los padres — because gender is part of the word in Spanish. Colors are given in the masculine singular, days and months in lowercase as Spanish writes them, and every question opens with ¿ as well as closing with a question mark. The Spanish is the Latin American classroom standard throughout.

Tips for using Spanish worksheets

Customization options

Sheet type

Five genuinely different pages. Translation practice is a numbered list with a line per word. Matching is two columns to connect with a line, the right column scrambled so no pair sits straight across. Numbers is digits and Spanish number words. Alphabet is the 27 letters with their names. Greetings & phrases is fill in the missing word with a word bank.

Topic

For translation and matching: animals, colors, days and months, greetings, family, food, the classroom, or parts of the body. Each pack holds more words than fit on one sheet, so a 12-row page is a draw from the pack and a different row count gives a different set.

Direction

English to Spanish, or Spanish to English. On the numbers sheet this becomes digits to Spanish words, or Spanish words to digits. Switching direction keeps the same words, so you can hand out both versions of one set.

Number range

1 to 10, 1 to 20, the tens from 10 to 100, or the full 1 to 100 with compound numbers like cuarenta y siete. The numbers on a sheet are drawn from the range you pick, so a 1-to-10 sheet is those ten numbers in a mixed order.

Rows

6, 8, 10, or 12 items per page. Fewer rows means more room to write on each line, which suits younger students; 12 is a full page for a class that has the words and needs the practice. The alphabet sheet is always all 27 letters.

Paper size

US Letter (8.5 × 11 inches) or A4 (210 × 297 mm). The rows are laid out again to fit whichever sheet you choose, so nothing is stretched or clipped.

Frequently asked questions

What Spanish worksheets can I make here?

Five different sheets. Translation practice gives an English word and a line to write the Spanish (or the reverse). Matching puts English on the left and scrambled Spanish on the right to connect with a line. Numbers asks for the Spanish word for a digit, from uno to cien. The alphabet sheet shows all 27 letters with their names. Greetings and phrases leaves one word out of each common phrase, with a word bank. Each one prints as a PDF with the answer key on page two.

Are these free printable Spanish worksheets?

Yes. Every sheet is completely free — no signup, no email, no watermark, and no limit on how many you generate or print. The PDF is built in your browser the moment you click Download, so there is nothing to wait for and nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Is there an answer key?

Yes — page two of the download is the answer key for page one, with the answers printed in blue so you can tell the two pages apart across a desk. The matching key lists the correct pairs in the order they appear on the worksheet. The alphabet sheet is the one exception: nothing on it is hidden, so it prints as a single page.

Do the worksheets include el and la?

Yes. Every noun prints with its article — el perro, la casa, los padres — because gender is part of the word in Spanish and a child who copies perro has learned half of it. The English side says "the dog" so it is clear an article is expected, and the answer key shows the full form. Feminine nouns that take el, like el agua and el águila, are printed correctly too.

What numbers in Spanish are covered?

One to one hundred. Choose 1 to 10 for a first sheet, 1 to 20 to add once through diecinueve, the tens (diez, veinte, treinta … cien) on their own, or the whole range 1 to 100 with compound numbers like treinta y siete. Each sheet can ask for the Spanish word from the digits, or the digits from the Spanish word.

Which Spanish alphabet is used?

The 27-letter alphabet the Real Academia Española has used since 2010: a to z plus ñ. The digraphs ch and ll are no longer counted as letters. Each letter is shown with its name — a, be, ce, de, e, efe, ge, hache, and so on through eñe and zeta. Where a letter has two accepted names, both are printed: ve (uve), doble ve (uve doble), and ye (i griega).

Is the Spanish from Latin America or Spain?

Latin American classroom Spanish, applied consistently: el jugo rather than zumo, la papa rather than patata, rosado for pink, el pizarrón for the board, and doble ve for W. Where no single word is used across Latin America — a pen, a banana — the word is simply left out rather than picked for one country. Phrases use the informal tú forms a school class teaches, never vosotros.

What level are these Spanish worksheets for?

Beginners — the first year or two of Spanish, roughly A1. The topics are the ones every introductory course starts with: greetings, colors, numbers, days and months, family, food, animals, the classroom and the body. That suits elementary and middle-school Spanish class, homeschool Spanish, and adults starting out.

Can I print a whole Spanish packet?

Yes. Each download is one sheet type, so build a packet by downloading a few: a matching sheet and a translation sheet on the same topic draw the same words, so the second one tests what the first one taught. Add the numbers sheet, the alphabet, and a greetings page and you have a week of work in five PDFs.

Will I get the same worksheet if I come back?

Yes. The same sheet type, topic, range, and row count always produce the same words in the same order, so you can print a class set today and an identical one next week. Change any of those settings and you get a genuinely different sheet. Switching direction or paper size keeps the same words — it only changes how they are presented.
