What's included on each worksheet
Every sheet is a full page with a name and date line, an instruction line that names the tense, and an answer key on page two with the answers in blue. Conjugation tables give each verb its own table — the infinitive, its English meaning, and a line for every person from yo to ellos. Fill in the blank gives numbered sentences with the infinitive in brackets: Yo ___ (hablar) español en clase. Reflexive verb practice adds a second blank for the pronoun — Yo me levanto a las siete — with a pronoun reference box at the top. Object pronoun practice prints a sentence and a line to rewrite it: Yo compro el pan becomes Yo lo compro, and the double-object version drills the se lo change.
Regular verbs conjugate by rule, so the supply of sheets is unlimited; the twenty key irregular verbs — ser, ir, tener, hacer, decir and the rest — come from a hand-checked table, so hizo, dijeron and empecé are always right. Accents are treated as part of the answer: hablé is not hable, and the key never drops one. The subjunctive is deliberately not offered — these sheets stop where the answers can be guaranteed.
Tips for using conjugation worksheets
- Drill one verb set through the week. The same verbs appear whichever tense you pick — print the present sheet on Monday and the preterite sheet on Wednesday, and the class conjugates the same set in both.
- Start with tables, then switch to fill in the blank. A table isolates the paradigm; a sentence makes the student pick the person from the subject — Nosotros ___ (comer) — which is the skill the test actually asks for.
- Mark a missing accent as a wrong answer. Hablo means I speak; habló means he spoke. Treating the accent as decoration in year one builds a habit that costs marks for years.
- On reflexive sheets, insist on both blanks. A student who writes levanto without me has conjugated the verb and missed what makes it reflexive — the pronoun is part of the answer.
- Teach direct object pronouns before double object pronouns. The se lo rewrite assumes lo/la/los/las is automatic; run the direct sheet until it is, then add the indirect object.
- Use the irregular-verbs set as a warm-up quiz. Six tables of ser, ir and friends in the preterite, five minutes, keys swapped with a neighbour — the highest-value drill in Spanish class.

How do the reflexive verb worksheets work?
Each sentence has two blanks: one for the reflexive pronoun and one for the conjugated verb — Yo me levanto a las siete. A reference box at the top lists the pronouns (me, te, se, nos, se), and the answer key fills both blanks. The verbs are the daily-routine set every course teaches: levantarse, ducharse, cepillarse, vestirse, acostarse, despertarse and more, including the stem-changers, in all five tenses — me levanto, me levanté, me levantaba, me estoy levantando.
What is the difference between direct and double object pronoun practice?
Direct object practice rewrites a sentence replacing the object with lo, la, los or las: Yo compro el pan becomes Yo lo compro. Double object practice adds the indirect object: Yo doy el libro a María becomes Yo se lo doy — practicing the rule that le and les change to se before lo, la, los and las. Both print with a full-width line under each sentence to write the rewritten version.
Which irregular verbs are included?
The twenty highest-frequency irregular and stem-changing verbs: ser, estar, ir, tener, hacer, poder, decir, ver, dar, saber, querer, venir, poner, salir, traer, conocer, pedir, dormir, empezar and jugar. Every form is stored in a hand-checked table — hizo, dijeron, empecé, durmió — rather than generated, so a wrong form cannot slip in. Choose regular verbs, irregular verbs, or a mix.
Is vosotros included?
It is an option, off by default. Most courses in the United States teach Latin American Spanish, where ustedes covers the plural you — so the standard sheet drills five persons.
