What's included on each sheet
Each sheet is a single page on US Letter or A4 with your chosen number of lines spread evenly down it. The spacing is computed so every interval is exactly the same width — a 0-to-20 line divides the page into twenty equal steps, not twenty roughly-equal ones — which is what makes a printed number line worth more than a screenshot. Ticks come in two heights: taller labelled landmarks and shorter minor marks between them. End arrows show the line continues, and the Name and Date fields at the top keep it classroom-ready.
Tips for using number lines
- Print a blank line (labels off) and have students write the numbers in — it's the fastest check of whether they understand the scale.
- Model addition by hopping right and subtraction by hopping left; the even spacing makes each jump the same size every time.
- Use a fraction line with the matching denominator to show equivalent fractions — 2/4 and 1/2 land on the same tick.
- Integer lines make negative numbers concrete: zero in the middle, debts and temperatures to the left.

Set how far the line runs and how often the ticks are labelled. Whole and integer lines let you label every 1, 2, 5, or 10; wider ranges label at a bigger interval automatically so the numbers never crowd. Fraction lines run from 0 to a whole number you choose.
Denominator

Can the number line show negative numbers?

Can I make a decimal number line in tenths?
Yes. The decimal line type marks tenths from 0 to 1, 0 to 2, and up. A 0-to-1 line labels every tenth; wider ranges label the halves or whole numbers and keep the tenths as unlabelled minor ticks so the line stays readable.
