This policy explains what PrintTheSheet (printthesheet.com) does with information when you visit. It covers the whole site: every worksheet generator, every guide, and every printable page.

What the worksheet generators collect

Nothing. This is worth stating precisely, because it is a property of how the site is built rather than a policy we could quietly change.

Every worksheet on this site is generated by code running inside your own browser. When you type a child’s name into the name tracing tool, paste a spelling list into the word search maker, or drop a passage into the fill-in-the-blank generator, that text is turned into a PDF on your device. It is not uploaded, not queued on a server, not logged, and not stored — there is no server-side component that could receive it. Closing the tab is all it takes to be rid of it.

The same is true of the finished PDF. It is assembled in memory and handed straight to your browser’s download, so we never hold a copy of any worksheet anyone has made.

One thing to be aware of. Each generator has a Copy link button that packs your current settings into a shareable web address. We never put those settings into the address bar by ourselves — that only happens if you press the button, or if you open a link somebody shared with you. If you do open such a link, the address (including any settings inside it, which could include a name you or they typed) is part of the page URL, and page URLs are recorded by the analytics described below. If that matters to you, delete the part of the address after the ? before loading it.

Analytics

We measure how many people find the site and which worksheets are worth building more of. Two tools do this:

• Google Analytics 4 (property G-94WZZL7648). Sets cookies in your browser and reports the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are (derived from your IP address, which Google does not make available to us), your device and browser type, and how you arrived — a search result, a link, or a direct visit. Google’s handling of this data is governed by its own privacy policy.
• Vercel Analytics, provided by our host. It counts page views without cookies and without building a profile that follows you between websites.

We also record an event when a worksheet PDF is successfully downloaded, so we can tell which generators people actually use. That event carries only the settings you chose from the menus — the paper size, the difficulty, whether you picked dotted or solid letters. It deliberately never carries the name you traced, the words you searched for, or any other text you typed; the code that builds these events is written to exclude those fields outright.

Advertising

Everything on PrintTheSheet is free to use, with no signup, no email wall, and no watermark. Display advertising is how that is paid for.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by Google at Google Ads Settings, and opt out of personalised advertising by many other vendors at aboutads.info/choices or the NAI opt-out page. Opting out means the ads you see are less relevant, not that they disappear.

Affiliate links

A few of our guides — the ones whose advice describes real-world supplies such as pencil grips, index cards, or playdough — end with a short list of those supplies, linked to searches on Amazon. Every such list sits behind its own plain-language disclosure on the page itself, above the links.

Those are ordinary links today: we are not in any affiliate programme and earn nothing when you follow them or buy. If we join one — Amazon’s is the likely candidate — links like these may earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you, the disclosure above them on each page will say so plainly, and this section will carry the full details before the first affiliate link goes live.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. The ones used here come from the analytics and advertising services named above; the site itself sets no cookies of its own, because it has nothing to remember about you between visits.

Every browser lets you block or delete cookies, and most offer a private browsing mode that discards them when you close the window. Blocking them will not stop any worksheet generator from working — the tools do not depend on cookies at all.

Fonts, images, and every other asset on this site are served from our own domain rather than a third-party font or script CDN, so ordinary page loading does not report your visit to anyone else.

Visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland

If you are in one of these regions, you will be asked for your consent choices before advertising and analytics cookies are used, through a consent notice that records your answer and passes it on to those services. You can reopen that notice at any time to change your mind. Our legal basis for this processing is your consent; you can withdraw it at any point, and doing so does not affect anything already done.

Children

PrintTheSheet is made for the adults who print worksheets — parents, teachers, tutors, and carers — rather than for children, and it is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included; as described above, the site has no accounts and no mechanism for a visitor to submit personal information to us at all.

The worksheets are of course made for children, and a child may well be sitting at the keyboard typing their own name into a tracing sheet. That name stays on the device, exactly as described above. If you believe a child has somehow provided us with personal information, email us at hello@printthesheet.com and we will delete it.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like every web host, its servers keep short-term request logs — the page requested, the time, the IP address the request came from, and the browser’s user-agent string — which exist to serve the site and to spot abuse. We do not run a database and we do not combine those logs with anything else.

Your choices and your rights

• Use your browser’s cookie controls or private mode to limit what is stored, with no effect on the worksheets.
• Use the advertising opt-outs above to turn off ad personalisation.
• Depending on where you live — including the EEA, the UK, and California — you may have the right to ask what personal information a business holds about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to certain processing. Because we hold no accounts and no database, in practice there is nothing on our side to produce or erase; requests about the data held by Google or Vercel are best made to them directly, and we will help if you ask.
• We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond the standard advertising cookies described above.

Links to other sites

Some pages link out — to Pinterest when you save a worksheet, to Google’s own settings pages, or to a reference elsewhere. Those links are plain links, with no tracking script embedded in our pages to make them work. Once you follow one, that site’s privacy policy applies rather than ours.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Anything that materially affects what is collected will be reflected here before it takes effect.
